Celebrity ISH: Jay Z Announces Brooklyn Nets + 8 Concerts [Video]


Jay-Z was on hand for the Barclays Center press conference at Atlantic Terminal this morning in Brooklyn. Jay announced the transformation of the New Jersey Nets to the Brooklyn Nets and his plan to do 8 Concerts starting the opening week of the soon-to-open Barclays Center. Get the deets inside:


“We’re going to open this arena right here with a concert. Maybe one, maybe two, maybe three … I sound like LeBron,” the multi-platinum rapper said.



The conference outside of Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn was across the street from the Barclays Center. Jay attended the Conference with developer Bruce Ratner and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz. he confirmed that he will perform eight concerts to celebrate the arena’s opening, where all-access passes are expected to go for up to $15,400 a season.

“I can’t wait, for those Knicks, a.k.a. Manhattan Knicks, to step out of the way for what will surely be our NBA champions, the Brooklyn Nets,” said the borough President.
