Official Press Release:

Hip Hop In Pink 2011:
A Celebration of Women's Health Awareness
(Baltimore, MD) in conjunction with E Media’s Women of Power Networking Happy Hour will be hosting the 2nd Annual “Hip Hop in Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention showcase. The event will be held at one of Baltimore’s premiere, nightlife venues, Eden’s Lounge, 15 W. Eager Street Baltimore, MD on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 6pm-12am. The event will be hosted by Magic 95.9’s Civ Jones and music powered by 92Q Rap Attack’s Angel Baby featuring performances by: Carmen Cameron, Si-Notes, Ashley Moore, Tiara LaNiece, TT the Artist, Mzery Loves Company and exclusive all female Hip Hop cypher.

Hip Hop in Pink is an event that raises awareness and donations for organizations that promote breast care health. The movement was founded on the memories of family members and friends who have either been diagnosed or succumbed to the disease of breast cancer. Not wanting anymore premature deaths or diagnosis’s, the event promotes the principles of awareness and prevention by using Hip Hop culture as its vehicle.

Door price for this event is a 10.00 donation fee. Proceeds made from the event will be donated to the Tigerlily Foundation that aims to educate, advocate for, empower and provide hands-on services that support young women (15-40 years old), before, during and after breast cancer detection.

The event is geared towards the 21-40 year old demographic because learning about breast care health, and benefits of early detection at this age, can save lives. By teaching young people to be healthy and aware of their bodies, they are more likely to follow the recommendations regarding clinical exams, mammograms and regular doctor check-ups. Knowing the facts, taking action and early detection are the single most important factors in surviving a breast cancer diagnosis.

Media interested in covering the event, and those interested in donating women-friendly items for inclusion in our Hip Hop in Pink gift bags can email Singleton Newman at or Civ Jones at

Note: Performers and Cypher Participants have already been chosen. They will not be adding any others! Thank you for your interest.
