This past weekend I had some of the best "girl time" with one of my close friends over some very delicious brunch and some cold mimosa's. We discussed every thing from clothes to politics. She mentioned to me that she had a date coming up this week and that she was nervous. After she list several reasons she asked me should she carry extra money on her date. My answer was yes.
For several reasons:
- you never know how the date is going to go. Your just getting to know this guy, the last thing you want to do is be sorry. What if the topic of discussion at dinner gets a little heated and you two have words? Wanting to get up leave because you're pissed you can't, because he drove. That extra money can get you a cab to home. Without feeling hostage .
- You're a grown woman so there's no reason why you shouldn't already have your own money anyway!
- Suppose the bill comes and he hits you with the "aww man, I forgot my wallet at home". The last thing you want to do is roll up your sleeves to wash those restaurant dishes.
Carrying your money isn't a bad thing at all. Yes, when a man ask you out he's suppose to pay, but you just never know what's going through his head or what can happen. So ladies, please always have your own money for back up!
