Shop Talk & Sharp Thoughts is a brand new talk radio show broadcasting on Annapolis Power 99.1 and the ISH on Demand iTunes podcast network.

The show is themed around the barber shop and is a strict men only zone. The cast consists of 5 men (4 of the 5 men are from Annapolis, MD). These educated, hilariously charming and opinionated men will be tackling topics such as hip-hop, entertainment, lifestyle, sports and politics.

Every day this week we are introducing you to a cast member. The ISH Radio Show teamed up with Shop Talk for a exclusive interview, peep the full interview below.

What do you define as “manliness”?

Being able to learn and teach. Understanding how to remain humble and still be able to standout without putting each other down. Knowing that you have responsibility to guide your children to be positive leaders. Supporting your wife in her career as well as in the home.
In what ways are you a leader? In what ways are you a follower?
I am a leader because I understand that leaders work WITH the people, not just telling them what to do. I feel I have influence to create the spark in another persons mind to reach a goal and be successful.

I have found myself following those I believe to be genuine and who I felt had the same vibe as myself. Once I see that they weren't what they portray, I cut them off.

What was your dream job growing up?

To be a World Class chef in a five star restaurant... Until I found Hip Hop!! Then I realized I was meant to be a force in the culture which is why I started FOCUS ENT with my little bro D.O.(shameless plug llamf)

If you could change one law, what would it be?

Allowing non violent felons to be able to vote after they have served their time. The ability to further your education while in the prison system. Giving REAL rehabilitation to drug users who are locked up. And of course freeing all political prisoners!!

What’s your greatest failure, and how did you overcome it?

Not being able to save a friend in high school who was murdered. I lived in Inglewood, California for six years. I became close with a dude who was involved in the gang culture. He was killed at a football game we were attending. That really put me in a bad space for a few years, enough to make my mom send me back to MD with my dad because she saw me going the wrong way. I overcame by learning that I was here to do something greater than what was foreshadowed for me(gangs, drugs, violence)

What’s your greatest achievement and how has it shaped you?

My greatest achievement or should I say achievements are Kai and Kieran. My son and daughter.
Their births made me see that I had to make a lifestyle change that I may not have made if they weren't born. I was wild as a mufucka out here... They really were the best things to happen to me besides my wife!!

What makes you happiest?

Knowing that I am becoming the man my mother and father raised me to be. I was really questioning myself and my future at one point in life. Enough to know I needed to change but not really applying it.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

My mouth and views when it pertains to others and certain subjects. If you follow me on Facebook you know I will say whatever is on my mind, even to the point of seeming offensive to some. Y'all know I'm a lil off kilter tho!! Lmmfao but honestly I say what most are thinking but scared to.

If you could change one event from history, what would it be?

I would eliminate COINTELPRO and stop the mass distribution of crack cocaine to the black community.

What are your three favorite albums? Why?

NWA Straight Outta Compton: because I lived in California at the time of the release of this album and could relate to most of the things they talked about
Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsies: I feel he is a musical genius. His views on the world were spot on and he didn't ever compromise who he was to fit an agenda. Plus he was left handed and had to play the guitar upside down before left handed guitars were manufactured
Wu Tang Forever: I feel as far as music no one has created an album that contained so much talent on the emcee side as well as production. Rza is my favorite hip hop producer, Gza is my favorite rapper. I remember when I started making beats I would try to find filters and drums that he was using at the time, until I found out this mufucka was using actual door slams and various other sounds for drums....lmmfao

What motivates you to succeed?

Kieran my family is my world. Knowing that I grind for them is all the motivation I need!!!

What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

Greek Theater 1988: NWA, Public Enemy, Ice Cube(he had left them by then) Kool Moe Dee, Queen Latifah, Kid N Play, Digital Underground(Tupac was a dancer for them at the time and it was the first time they performed 'Same Song') Heavy D and The Boyz. My aunt got me front row tickets.

Which rapper would make the best U.S. President and why?

Killer Mike or David Banner. They are deeply connected to the pulse of our people and I just think they would not be scared to go against the grain.

If you could have the answer to any question, what would that question be?

Who were the ACTUAL shooters in the deaths of MLK, Malcolm X, Tupac, Notorious BIG, Jam Master Jay, and JFK. Also what is the recipe for the Chic Fil A crust.
