J. Cole returns home to Fayetteville, North Carolina in his HBO special “J. Cole Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming.” In the 60-second trailer, Cole reflects on his roots as he prepares for his sold-out show at Crown Coliseum. Cole will perform all 13 songs from his third album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, with special appearances from Jay Z and Drake.

“My dream for Fayetteville is that people here can wake up and realize that anything is possible of you want it,” says the 30-year-old rapper. “Growing up it felt like there wasn’t no opportunity here. I would come back home and it’s just that feeling like there’s no place like home.”

“J. Cole Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming” premieres Saturday, Jan. 9, at 10 p.m. The 90-minute special, part concert film, part backstage pass, tells his compelling life story through his own words and music, and through the observations of those who know him best.
